Hi
Easter Bank Holiday went well for me at RIE Caerphilly Castle, S. Wales (Just off the M4), its picturesque stature stands well for being a reduced castle.
The Parliamentary Siege Camp was on the west waterworks next to the water mill with the plastic campsite to the East next to the fish & chips shop.
(Shops, Morrisons, Greggs, Costa Coffee just outside the front gate, the Pub (closest) 1/2 a moat away)
Sutlery fed and watered the Soldiery during the day, the gate keys guarded & retained in the evening.
Dev's provided Officers and a few soldier's, by far the majority were from Crawford's Battalia with the R.A. Musket exceeding 150% over Winchester/Tilleys (Note: Winy's have change dress colour to the same as Dev's = confusion)
A good skirmish over the 4 days pressing over the bridge and through the two massive gatehouses with the musketeers loving their pieces mocking the single cannon in decibels.
So good beer, food variety, views, suntan, cherry cake, cordials, ice cream after 5pm, and ease of replacement of my airbed on Sat.
And thanks to Stef for my enablement.
